Tell It…My Name Is Victory, dba EmpowerU Foundation, is a movement and non-profit organization encouraging and assisting individuals that have been sexually abused or exploited to know that they can be healed and live a victorious life after being victimized. Our mission is to provide comprehensive resources, mental health support, and nourishment to men, women, and children who have experienced sexual abuse, empowering them to heal, thrive, and reclaim their lives. Our unwavering commitment is to foster a community that champions survivors, helps them rebuild their lives, and enables them to thrive in all aspects of their journey toward a brighter future.

Tara Bethea-Ra’Oof
Chief Executive Officer
Tara Bethea-Ra’Oof the founder and CEO of Tell It…My Name is Victory, dba EmpowerU
Foundation, in Hampton, GA. The organization’s mission is to provide comprehensive resources,
mental health support, and nourishment to men, women, and children who have experienced
sexual abuse, empowering them to heal, thrive, and reclaim their lives. A native of Goldsboro,
NC, Tara holds an AAS degree in Office Administration, BS in Business Administration, and
completion of MBA at the end of 2023 from Beulah Heights University. Tara’s work experience
includes positions as an Executive Secretary, Administrative Assistant, Tax Preparer, Accounts
Payable Analyst, and entrepreneur.
In 2018, Tara was pulled upon by the Lord to minister to survivors of sexual assault. Determined
to help her family be entirely healed from sexual trauma, Tara held her 1st annual conference on
03/23/2019 to bring awareness and discuss the prevention of sexual abuse. Tell It…My Name is
Victory became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2019. Since the organization’s
formation, Tara continues to explore ways of supporting the Southern Crescent Region
communities of Atlanta, GA, through their annual conferences, providing food, toys, clothing,
and mental health resources.
Ordained an Elder in 2017, Tara has served in other ministry roles as an Evangelist, Licensed
Minister, Youth Leader, Pastor Aide President, Sunday School teacher, and Assistant Sunday
School Super Superintendence. These ministry roles have allowed Tara to minister to the
community’s needs physically and spiritually. Married since 2015, Tara and her husband Nakim
have three daughters, one son, two grandsons, and a granddaughter. Tara enjoys traveling and
spending time with her family.
Nakim Ra’Oof
Chief Financial Officer
Nakim Ra’Oof, is a founder of Tell It…My Name is Victory, dba EmpowerU
Foundation, in Hampton, GA.
Nakim served in the United States Navy on the USS John F. Kennedy as an Air
Traffic Controller from 1995 to 1999. He currently works at Envista as a leader
of Software Technical Support. Nakim served as Vice President of Special Events for
HDI Atlanta for two terms. Nakim is still actively involved in HDI Atlanta as the
active President.
Nakim attends Open Door 365 International Ministries and serves on the media
team as a sound engineer. He is excited to leverage his skills that he has
gained over the years in business and other non profit organizations. Nakim is
married to Tara and they have four children.
Nailah Jones
Finance Manager
Nailah Jones is a native of Washington, D.C. and a retired Comptroller and Tax Preparer. She
worked in the accounting field for over four decades and continues to provide tax consultation.
Minister Jones holds a BA degree from the University of Washington, and her certifications
include certificates in Conflict Management and Human Resources, Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance, and Old Testament Training. Additionally, she is a lifetime member of Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority, Inc. Minister Nailah Jones has served as a Board Member, two years as
President, and ten years as Treasurer and Audit Chair in the Seattle Alumnae Chapter. She
currently serves as Treasurer for Morning Star Grand Chapter.
Minister Jones was a Board Member of Greater New Bethel MBC in Seattle and President of the
Deaconess Ministry before relocating to Georgia. After moving to Georgia, Minister Jones
immediately thrust herself into volunteerism at the church she attended. She joined the Social
Service Unit ministry in 2009 and was appointed Director in 2012. Her responsibilities included
recruiting volunteers to provide outreach in the community by offering clothing, toiletries,
Thanksgiving food baskets, and referral resources, such as shelter and housing assistance, that
the church did not provide.
In 2014, she was instrumental in opening the church’s food pantry and partnering with the
Department of Labor and South Clayton County Recreation Center in helping to provide jobs for
those seeking employment by having the church’s annual Job and Health Fairs. In 2017, Minister
Jones accepted Benevolence Ministry Leadership to minister to the sick, shut-in, and bereaved
families to meet their needs. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Minister Jones
understands the importance of empowering our youth to thrive even in adversity.
